Need help instaling skins.

Alrighty so I have tired installing multiple skins and the only one that I had limited success with his the harwammer40k pack where the models are selectable and can be played with but they have no animation whatsoever so its just guys standing strait moving around like magic.

So with so many failures and the inability to find a skinner that actually bothered to wright a read me file where people new to adding skins for ut3 can understand I ask this one simple question.


Can anyone please just run me trough the adding skins to your ut3 game 101?

P.S: You guys are my last hope as I had so much of a bad experience trying to get help for this that if this doesn't work I am deleting UT3 and taking this game and dumping it in the nearest trash compactor I can find that's how much I am fed up with this.

P.S.S: Sorry for the rant its just something that's been picking at my last nerve for quite some time now.

Heheh, I rage like that too when I get annoyed with something.

Normally, all the files should be placed in this directory: My Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Published\CookedPC\CustomChars

Sometimes the authors use odd folder setups in the zip file and you end up having to install each file individually. Perhaps if you posted what characters you want to install and their file names, it may be easier to help.

On a related note, I've been trying to delete some custom characters I installed a long time ago but the game crashes when someone using that character joins or is in a server I try connecting to. Hao i fixx diz?

When deleting characters I've had to remove all references to them from the INI files.

Thanks alot Mech tough I will need to reinstall my UT3 cause even tough it work I get a bunch of errors when I start it so I'll take the easy way out and just reinstall the thing.

Now I just need to find where I put that box so I can get my CD key I know its in my basement but where in the basement that's the tricky thing.

Alright so I got the game reinstalled and I managed to get the characters to work properly.

Turns out there is two UT game folder on my PC 1 in program files and 1 in my documents and the file needed to be on the one is in my documents.

I carefully read the read me multiple times and not one mentioned that bit so if any skinner is reading this might be a good idea to put that in your notes in cause you get a idiot like myself.
