Naming the Spice Girls

Back when the Spice Girls first started, a lot of people found it hard to remember both their real names & their nicks & match them to their appearance.
so..... I came up with the ALTERNATIVE spice girls naming scheme. it went like this:

• Fat Spice
• Ugly Spice
• Talentless Spice
• Sl*tty Spice (or Tarty Spice)
• Thick Spice

Of course, the real beauty of this sytem was that it removed the need to match a name to a face -- ANY name from the list applies equally well to ANY Spice Girl.

Thankfully, their 15 minutes of fame is long gone.

now we have brittney spears, christina aguilera (can anyone tell the difference between these two?), backstreet boys, 'n sync, dream street, aaron carter...

NONE of whom play their own instruments or write their own songs. i swear, if i hear "i want candy" one more time, i'm going to maul someone with a wrench.

well the spicewomen (you hardly call them "girls") still kinda try to hang around. yesterday morning, trying to enjoy my cup of coffee, reclining on the sofa, MTV on (at school, that is)...Top Ten @ Ten ... solo spice. uhh. ten videos of spicesh!t from their solo efforts. uhh.

have to mention, three of them have a video which look exactly the same, colour-wise - overexposed, turquoise sea and the "artist" showing off her boobs and squirming/rolling on the sand for the lenght of the vid.

Not entirely correct. Geri Haliwell is still around - she made that crap cover of 'It's Raining Men' for the Bridget Jones film (wtf was wrong with the original?), Posh Spice has... er... married a famous footballer and now seems to think herself Queen of Celebrity, and I think the blonde one has some sort of solo career as well.

Towards the end, before the band split up into solo projects, their songs got better and better. Certainly it was just pop songs, but at least good quality pop. Not too shabby, really. And I liked the fact that they didn't look like models; more like the girl next door. *shrug*

Robbie Wiliams has proven that a boy/girl band member can turn into a decent musician. I think some of the SGs have the potential to do the same. I prefer the Spice Girls over Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera any time. Sheez, those two are dumb as a loaf of bread. And ... sorry, I don't dig fake boobs.
