My ideas for the next version of INF

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. First of all, I want to say hi to everyone as I'm new to the INF community and if I haven't seen you online yet then, hopefully I will in the near future, well anyways here are my ideas for the next version of INF:
Bleeding and bandaging: if your hit and the bullet tears through your skin then you will bleed and in order to stop this you'll have to bandage, how much you bleed will depend on how powerful the bullet is and how much it went into your skin, so if you get shot and it leaves an exit wound then your pretty much screwed.
Ballistics system: bullets should be affected by things like gravity and wind and the level of penetration from a bullet should depend on what type of material it hits.
Location based damage: if your hit in the leg and the wound is really bad then your forced to walk since you can't run anymore and if both legs are hit then you have to go crawl, if your hit in the arm then it'll affect your aim and if one of your arms is busted up really bad then you can't use two handed weapons anymore.
Lastly, we should be able to have a first aid kit for loadouts and have field medics in the game. Well that's all I wanted to say, feel free to comment on them.

Bleeding is done in Dukes new mutator, which is currently undergoing testing.
Inf already has such ballistics. Apart from wind.
Location based damage is handled by the Real Targets mutator, with the disabling injuries coming in a new version.
When patching up injuries, you are meant to use the wounded soldier's own field dressings. Anything the dressings can't handle would be disabling, and as such the soldier would take no firther part in the scale of Inf games.

See why I love the mutator system? :D

Here's a suggestion for the scrapbook.
Better hand to hand options.

I'm not saying turn everyone into Jackie Chan, but 2 options i'd like to see would be, "Disarm" and "hold". Both would require the attacker to have his knife equiped. I imagine "hold" or Graple or Grab ect as an Alt-fire for the knife and would prevent the enemy from being able to move away from attacker. Disarming an opponet would be an attack that would force the weapon the opponent was using to be droped, and would be possible both in combination with a graple, and when used alone. Stamina ( and possibly the "Class" if Sentry Stuidio's decides to go this route.. Special Forces would get some bonus) would figure highly in the determination of who would win a struggle, and would be drained quickly.
