Most of the time when I play UT I either have LoveLines (a radio program, same guys that do the MTV show) on the radio or I have Comedy Central on the TV behind me. Sometimes I like playing with some music to keep me going though. That is why I am starting this thread, to find out what kind of music fellow posters enjoy.

My favorite kind of music has to be industrial. That includes Skinny Puppy, KMFDM, Die Form, Pigface, NIN (I know..I know..), Laetherstrip, FLA and others...
Other types are etheral (delerium, enigma), electronica (underworld, prodigy, chemical brothers, crystal method, future sound of london), new wave (OMD, pet shop boys, Smiths, the fixx), and others that I don't know how to classify (depeche mode, the cure, kate bush, portishead, david bowie)

I like a lot of types of music to tell you the truth. One type that I do not like is country. Don't get me wrong, I think that some country artists are very talented, it just isn't a type of music that I enjoy listening to. As for rap, I'm not crazy about most of it. I liked "no scrubs" and "can I get a.." but that is where I draw the line.

So, I showed you mine...you show me yours.

I like Hip-Hop, and when I say that I mean real Hip-Hop. I hate DMX, Master P, Juvenile, (I think that is how he spells it)and others of that same style. Some that I really like include: A Tribe Called Quest, Supernatural, De La Sol, Hieroglyphics, Souls of Mischief and many more. There is this new form of Hip-Hop that combines Drum and Bass and Hip-Hop. I am starting to hear more and more of it and I love it. My friend met these guys online (Luigi Amore & DJ Mike407) and they sent him a tape of their stuff and it kicks *** ! The said it is cool to distribute it since they don't have a label and they are still trying to get known, so if anyone wants a copy or I made a mp3 of one side. just send me a email or ICQ me and I could send you the file. Getting back to the subject. I do like some hardcore bands like Civ, and Orange 9 millimeter. I can really get into Jazz, and Orchestra, they both have a sound that I love. I really don't like country music at all. The two kinds of music that I hate are R&B and Country. To me they are almost the same thing. They both have the same message and will make your ears bleed if you listen to it long enough.:p

I like absolutely anything except for country (with very few exceptions).

Actually, I just got the new Enigma album the other day (The Screen Behind The Mirror) and it kicks àss! I've been an Enigma fan since the beginning and they've (or should I say he) always managed to make top-quality albums.

I'm also a drum 'n bass-head, liking artists such as Adam F, Roni Size, Simon V and anything from Moving Shadow Records.

Have you heard anything from Renegade Hardware? They are always on the leading edge of where Drum/Bass are going to. My friend just got their latest CD in the mail about a week ago and it is tight.

that new song "BLUE" I just heard it yesterday so I haven't had a chance to burn out on it because of excessive radio play.

i like: basically all rock and punk,
geekrock (weezer, meatpuppets etc.)SKA (specials, madness, bodysnatchers), swing, classical and classic rock, also electronic, some industrial and techno, not to mention cheezy 80's rock and disco.
im not picky as long as it isnt some cheap slut whining and sounding like some guy is ripping her toes off with a pair of pliers (what was that about shania twain?) i dont like country or rap or r&b or hip hop (im not a damn rabbit after all).
just say no to easy listening!

phished knows where it's at. I just got 11 new CD's at the local Dark Music Night at Tower Records
Threat Level 5, Girls Under Glass, Tapping the Vein, Wumpscut, Hate Dept, Covenant, Pulse Legion, Lights of Euphoria, Cobalt 60, all really good stuff...basically, If I want to dance to it, I can DM or CTF to it. anyhoo, It's all Industrial with some EBM. Every now and then I get the urge for some Dropkick Murphy's style punk.
Course my CD's are scattered with goth, ska, punk, swing, jazz, big band(all stuff from 20's - 50's) and some ska.

BTW, fishedNET, what city are you in? How's the Goth/Industrial scene there? D.C.'s is in it's winter slowdown.

Sometimes I listen to trance/techno and electronic music that mostly comes from UK. Oh, and I like a little bit of punk rock.

Ahhh, wumpscut and lights of euphoria, I like them as well. I have the third loe cd but I heard that the brothers one (second?) is the best.
Believe it or not I am in Salt Lake City, UT. A few years ago I got into the club scene but haven't really been big into it for about a year or so now. Too many rumors and people I dislike. Here is the webpage that is updated by one of the club's DJs. Has a playlist, events calendar, etc..

Good to see that I'm not the only "l33t hax0r" that plays Unreal Tournament.

Hrmm, I don't think that I know anyone named Russel. The only Russel that I know is about 40 years old and wears fangs. Most of the people at A I really haven't gone to the club much lately. Now days I go maybe once a month, tops. Even when I do go I am only 20 so I can't go up to the bar, and I don't talk to many people. I guess you could call me anti-social. Online I blabber a lot, but I'm really quiet in the company of strangers in real life.
Heh, unfortunently I am stuck in SLC for the time being (good job, low cost of living). I'm not sure where I'll end up later in life. The whole scene in SLC isn't all that bad, just don't move in with people you meet at clubs, they make horrible roomates.
