i am not sure why, but i used to notice, first time in the original Unreal that, when you go close to a wall or floor, you see an even more detailed texture. this was a very beautiful effect (i think it is called multitexturing, as mipmapping is omething else), i´ve seen it in the UT demo too, but in the retail UT its disappeared. i have a Riva TNT1 with detonator 3.53. i dont think my card is the problem as i have used it in the demo too.

anyone else having the same problem?

Hi, i have a GeForce and first i had a TnT2Ultra.... same problem...
You must open with notepad the file UnrealTournament.ini and search for the D3d section... under this section there is a
parm. called DetailTexture and probably is
set to False.... simply set to True and start
the game.....

Why they do a beatifull menu and didn't put the options inside i don't know.....

With my nVidia i got some little texture problem with DetailTexture=True... maybe the set Off by default for D3d.....

bye
