Taken from the Newest PC gamer (September 2005)

Page 27.
PCG asks Steve Allison, Chief Marketing Officer at Midway:

"Why is Midway Jumping into the PC space when the company has long been known as a console giant"

Steve says:
"...Unreal Tournament 2007 is going to be a huge PC and next-generation console game, but it will likely sell the most copies on the PC platform worldwide because of its origins and fan base."

So what is it in that issue of PCG? A preview of 2007, a small thing about the engine? Provide details!

[EDIT] and this really doesn't tell us anything in regards to confirmation. He's suggesting what the game could become. He doesn't outright say anything relevant.

Well all the proof I needed was that epic showed off the game during Sony's playstation 3 press confrence at E3. So I don't get why it is even in question. UT2k7 is coming out for the next gen consoles too. Nothing wrong with that, I just hope it isn't dumbed down. With how powerful the xbox 360 and PS3 are though I imagine it'll be up to par with the PC release too.

I wanna compare it to Unreal Championship which was a huge failure and just as bad as UT2k3, but that was a first gen xbox live title and more of an experienment. Epic ended up doing a great job with Unreal Championship 2, and I think they are more then capable of getting it right now with making the console ut2k7 version feel like the PC version.

Second post, can't miss it.

That just doesn't make a whole heck of a lot of sense since it was shown at the playstation 3 press conference at E3.

Sony is claiming that you can put windows XP on the playstation 3, Microsoft would have to port it though, so chances are it won't happen. I can see PC mods working on the PS3 and Xbox360 versions of UT2k7 though, its possible anyways. Bethesda software is doing that with Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, the Xbox 360 version will support any PC made mods.

Read the post Tool. The guy even put 'confirmed' in bold.

He is not saying it's PC Only, he's saying that it will DEFINATELY be released for PC. He ISN'T however, denying the possibility of it being brought to next-gen consoles either.

It was from an article/interview about how 3 major publishers decided to dig deeper into the pc market instead of jump ship to the console market like most publishers are doing.

Also the way Steve worded his response made it sound pretty definate. pc 'and' next gen consoles. He doesnt say 'possibly next gen consoles' or 'maybe' or 'further down the road' or anything. Sounded pretty definate to me.

I personally dont mind really, just as long as we dont get a watered down version of a console port like us pc gamers have gotten so many times in the past.

Either way, if it is coming out for pc only, or at least pc first, it kinda seems like the developer, publisher, and random PR folks have all got their information wires crossed as to what is really going on.

You hear yes from this person, no from that person, and maybe from this guy overhere.

Consoles suck so who cares? UT2007 is for PC and should stay for PC. FPS doesnt work on consoles with the boxy controllers imo.
