Sometimes when I load a custom map in the editor to see how they've done a certain lighting effect or something, some of the surfaces don't have any materials applied to them. They are just their default "naked" checkered look.
But if I play the level in-game (not in the editor, but actually loading the game), then everything is fine and there are materials on everything.
When I open up the generic browser and go into the map package, I see the materials that are used there, and they have that checkered look there as well. If I open up the material editor it says on the Kismet window
"Texture Sample> Missing input texture."
I'm very new to mapping, so I'm trying to figure out why the editor isn't loading all the textures, but the game is.
Any advice is appreciated!
