    I use Maya 4.5 edition to model. I make alot of models but...one porblem. I have no idea how to make them skinnable.

    Any help?

    For that you need to learn how to UV Map the model, which is not easy. I only know Max tuts for that, but if you search around you should find some.

    I would use Max if I could get ahold of it, btu can't atm sad really :(

    is it easier to make models or skins, i've started a skin, but i don't know how to put it together, and i'm getting a bit confused over which part is which, any help?

    And as for which is easier modeling or skinning, i would have to say skinning is the easier of the two, by quite a long shot.

    its a bit of a long hard road to skinning m8, but u'll pick up soon enough :)

    Yeah when i said skinning is easier, i didnt mean it was easy :D

    Ive been skinning for 8 months or so now, only just really starting to get my skins down fast and effectively.

    ok but i don't think its me not knowing how to use it thats messed it up, i upload part of a bit i've been workin on, click refresh an i get this wierd popup error message, anyway, i'll speak 2 u l8r

    i was just wondering is there a program that can open .utx files and edit the images, coz the skin i'm doing is kind of based loosely on part of the soldier skin, thanks

    yes u use UED and open that texture pack, then export them *they will be in .pcx format* then edit them to ur needs :)

    thanks i looked at that but i didn't know what .pcx was so i asked here, right now where did i put that skin....
