Max. Hammer Jump Height? (UT99)

    What is the maximum height for a hammer jump in the original UT? I'm making an assault map and want to make sure the attacking team won't have any unintended shortcuts.

    might also wanna know what this is for UT2004, since I got that recently and may try mapping for that later.

    not sure if you can avoid hammer jumps. i recall from AS online games that they can be pretty high. if you double them properly (2 persons) you can reach nearly any height i guess.
    look at the ledge inside the gun cavern at AS-Overlord. i think that's about as high as one single person can get with a hammer. also keep in mind that you can use textures to boost the impact jump (or any jump).

    Put an agular surface at the floor so they CAN'T jump,it would only shoot you back at a 45 degree angle.
    Or surround the area with a small waterzone.

    I think the hieght is like 400? mabye higher

    As you can see if they change it from normal to hardcore you need to use turbo for height. ,then the lesser, definitly can't do a jump.

    And remember if they change the grav and things on there machine,your plans will go undone.or the translocator.

    AS normally removes the xloc by default i think

    and some servers even remove the hammer last time i played (long time ago)

    not really a good idea to put jump boots in an AS map either

    You can NOT make an AS map for stock physics that can't be boosted around. You have to use Invisible Collision Hulls to prevent players from going where they shouldn't.
    Hammer jump combos are not the only way. You can set triples where two guys crouch facing each other and a third guy hammers off of their hammers and you can easily reach distancees over 10,000 UU. Rox boosts can get you above 5000 straight up as well. not to mention horizontally.

    well, there's is at least one scenario where that still wouldn't help... *goes off to make AS map based of Half Life 2's Combine Citadel* wait, that'd probably be too big to fit in UT99's grid. :hmm:
