Brushes don't just disappear, surfaces sometimes do. Check if the brush only disappears when looking at it from certain angles, and if the map looks OK from within UT.

That brush looks very bad! I'd try deleting and remaking it.

it looks like two brushes are intersecting. try intersect/deintersect (which ever works right) the brush before adding it to the world.

yeah, only skip the intersect/deintersect stage on the complex brushes, like yours

lmao when you have lines sticking out of the brush that is NOT a good sign...

these guys are right - i never use intersect or deintersect unless necessary, vertex editing is SO much better.

    that brush is laughable =D

when you make a cylinder large enough to have those two diagonal lines crossing those vertexes, it means bad. if you can, make them using 3dsmax, like inoxx did if his ctf-face (in the skybox, it is how me made the earth's haze) with 5 or so diagonal lines connecting to the center brush.

If you have a many-vertex brush, don't intersect or deintersect unless it is cut clean. otherwise, if the brush is a more simple one, then inter/deintersecting could rather help your map.

well, i think you've received enough responces now
