Machinima! Who doesn't love it? The UE3 graphics and physics are gonna make machinima be able to reach new heights of quality, but what else? Do you want to see the possibility for distance blur and other important effects? how about auto shakey cam? I really want to see these, especially distance blur. Machinima NEEEDS distance blur. Whats everyone else think about machinima's future with UE3?

You can find quite alot of them in the MSUC. They had an entire category devoted to them.

Machinima is like, creating movies using a game, like the red vs blue movies or so, or creating a movie via scripted events in the Unreal Engine..... think like intro sequences for games and such, but expanded to tell a whole story or so. That make more sense?

Anyway. No matter the topic of a thread, if you need to ask twice your just being lazy. If you really are interested and your first batch of answers don't explain well. Google it. It's quicker and has less flames in it. ;)

Not quite the same thing. In game movies are kinda machinima but Machinima itself is Third party movies made using a game engine and anything in it and it's tools to make a machinema. Actual game movies aren't really machinema, they're just part of the game, if that makes sense. They're kinda machinema as in they're movies in the game but... really the whole point in machinema is that the movie tells the story and you don't need a game to tell parts of it and such.

for example there is a video kicking around the net made in the game World Of warcraft. it invovles a lot of the horde players getting together and reinacting the pirates of the caribean movie a bit and doing a dance video for the rest. that is a machinema.

That is to say, tools for making Machinema movies in the next game won't have anything to do with UT2007's story

possibly using the intro sequences as an example was a bad idea.
