Hey steve, Lost Gods is one of my faves, but please fix the spot at the end where the map resets you for bumping the wall :lol:
Heck, I'd like to see a lost gods ll made, maybe in a diffrent setting like Rome, Mexico, or Asia. Just an idea... :rolleyes: Or maybe a Rally version with the same UTX package, but a diffrent road course.

*EDIT
The more I think about it, Rome would be a good one. Tons of ruins you could put into the map (unless you have to make the textures yourself)*

Oh yeah, Suicide is phat, another awsome S.H. map ;) Be nice if it crossed itself a few more times though, increase the chance of T-boning someone at the crossings LOL

**EDIT #2**
I don't know if it's just me, but after I play Ocean2, my ram won't release the map, and my system get's bogged down, and I have to reboot... :( O2 I think is the only map that does this to me.
Yeah, I need to get more ram asap. Only running 512ddr. Does anyone else have this problem?

OceanRun2 works perfect for me... odd problem you have :p
Well, the map runs and looks great, but it won't get out of the ram :eek: and takes forever to load the next map. If I just shut down UT, it's still there, jamming up resources. That's why I have to reboot. I doubled my v-memory hoping it would solve the problem, but it didn't. :(

You are right about LostGods; I am baffled about OceanRun2 not releasing your ram. If I understood why all this happens I could get a real job:p We have several maps that could use an overhaul, but this means breaking compatability with the existing maps; it would confuse some players. We could have a date set where we will release all the fixed maps - after recieving feedback from the community, then re-release all the fixed maps.

So wierd.... my ram releases it fine (although I have a gig so maybe I dont notice). You could try setting your cachemegsize to 64 as opposed to 32. Thats the only ini tweak I could think of that has to do with memory alllocation. I changed it to 64 just for the hell of it way back when and I have 0 problems so maybe it will help you. :) Is that the ONLY map it does it on for you? If not... id say maybe you just have a general driver error somewhere causing it...

Right behind you.
I have no problems with it (although I don't get much time to play it either - restricted usage of the "work" PC until I can set up my baby again.)

EDIT: Oh and here's an idea:

For suicide you have a message advising people not to use turbo, maybe we could ha a volume that prevents people from using it (or, with even more flexibility: a volume that gives the mapper control on how much of a boost the Turbo gives you when in it. I envision F-Zero style maps with boost pads that really speed you up))

Yeah, I think it's the only map that it happenes with. I'll give the cachemegsize a try. I assum it's in ../ut2004/system/user (hehe :lol: UW is on my win2000 pro drive, by the way i just entered the directory, looks like Linux ;) ).

Hummmmm, I wonder if I install UW on Linux (Mandrake 10.1), if I'd have the same problem??? :rolleyes: I'll get back to you on that one...Not going to mess with Linux right now....

Here's my specs if that might help track down my problem;
AMD 2600XP, clocked @ 2010Mhz
Nvidia MX420 (current driver 66.93)
512 DDR ram
Western Digital 7200rpm-80 gig hard drive that UT lives on (only a few months old)
Windows 2000 Pro

Its in the UT2004.ini file.... not the user.ini. :)
ut2004.ini says

[General]
Start="Unreal Tournament 2004 (Starting)"
Exit="Unreal Tournament 2004 (Exiting)"
Run="Unreal Tournament 2004 (Running)"
Product="Unreal Tournament 2004"
Abbreviation="UT2004"

that's it....Should I add something to it?

Look for this part (its in the top half of the ini file)... yours will say 32 .. change it to 64....

[Engine.GameEngine]
CacheSizeMegs=64

:)

^ It should. I dont recommend setting it any higher than 64 though. Thats what epic says anyway :p You could try it.. but im sure its for a reason they say 64 max.

Uhhhhhhhhhhh.... how can that be possible? Do you have your UT2004 pointing to a different file for its ini. you HAVE to have a ini file with a bunch of info that saves your graphics settings and everything. Thats so wierd man. :eek:

Here is an example of like 1/64 of mine.... the file hsould have a ton of stuff in it...

hehe, found it, :D I was in the wrong file :lol: I was looking at the .INT file before :D
Made the change to 64, I'll let you know what happens. Going to try it now....

*EDIT*
Just tried it, seems to work ok ;) Let you know after I play a few maps with other players. Have a party to goto today, so I don't think I'll be around for the burnout. But I'll be on later tonight.
