Notice the "you". So, it's matter of personal preference... can't argue about tastes!

Mine are:

1) attacked.

Just horrible. I hated every single map of this mappack. Either they were too long, or simply too boring.

2) Xerania: Same. Very dull map.

3) The elder: too short and monotonous.

4) Thrall village: Plain boring maps :-/

The best: ShamuQuest 1 and 2 > These are the most beautiful maps I've ever seen. No kidding.
The worst: ShamuQuest 1 and 2 > But unfortunately they have a lot of bugs which can make the game crash and there are invisible holes in the ground where you get stuck.

Neo, there's far worse things than you listed. ;)
Start off by punishing yourself w/ any of Crescent Moon Squad's stuff. It's as if it's a collection of a few dozen mappers' first maps all strangly tied to one another. At least it ran w/o crashing or complaining about a missing package, that's the only real redeeming value. It's a series of 2 packs that I know of. Both unforgivably long.

You know, Kantham, this is the unreal forum.. so it's about Unreal...

Oh yeah, Crescent moon squad. Pretty odd maps, played them last year. Funny though, but it was kinda amusing. The maps, some of them, made me think of quake2.

Long? Well, .. some maps were really short.
Too short, tbh...

Hyper: Unfortunately, I have to agree.

Xerenia2: Invasion
for some reason i felt this one was an overrated mappack, i enjoyed most of Ezkeel's work including the original xerenia, Ezkeel wasnt always know for the good graphics although he can sometimes impress us with something like the white palace, but this mappack was just plain ugly compared to the first, it was quite fun at the start, but the puzzle map really dragged it down for me, it was a cool concept to have puzzles like moving platforms over lava and a giant chessboard, but the entire level just didnt make any sense, the entire place has no purpose, the race or person who built that must have had a twisted mind and therefore ruining the entire story and moral of the game.

CMS: Shadows of Napali
horrible, just horrible, the music still haunts me (i hate loud vocal MIDI'S)

and there are a few levels which are a huge waste of space on this planet, like a level which was nothing more then a huge substracted cube with twelve titans in it and the player spawning at 20m above floor falling to death, or another one which was a modified dark arena which had all the textures changed to the animated fractal ones, a ****load of decorations placed and a few randomly substracted cubes, the player exploded upon launching the level because the author didnt rebuild (at least the author cared enough to add a full readme, in which he said something like "i am really proud of this map, i can see myself becoming a professional game designer soon, maybe next time i will build a map from scratch"), for the people who built this i wish a painfull slow death ;)

neonite: to some point i have to agree with your opinion on the elder and attacked, they do get very repetetive (especially in coop, where you have to walk the entire thing over again after you die) and the unfair combat at most times, although i dont exactly see them as bad maps :)

there are quite a few other maps that have very primitive and ugly designs although which i still enjoyed abit therefore not exactly being bad to me (for example this map called cherokee which was probably designed by a retarded 3 year old, yet i had some fun exploring it since its quite huge)

actually i have to add spantobithreat to the list too, which probably most people would disagree with, the design and visuals were pretty innovative but i found the lightning and texture combination really dull and depressive, bad use or lack of ambient sound or music, not to mention gameplay got really annoying with skaarj lurking around corners and the lack of health and ammo. i ended up quitting it after 5 minutes of playing, i hate it even though i know it deserves better.

It's the player who can't handle DM-BADPLACE2K4,I made it to be an antiUT04 map, everything about it is what I like to be against how UT04 is to floaty and acrobattic cartwheel S__t.

Deck 1, 2 3 4 5 6 7,32, 40? LoL............

Worst map packs:

- Crescent Moon Squad - nearly no architecture.
- Apocalypse Threat - as above.

BEST map packs (hehe, I sometimes like posting something in opposition to the topic):

- Operation Na Pali
- Xidia
- Seven Bullets
- Shrakitha

The Creative Labs Unreal map pack - UNREALAO

First off, it was designed and promoted for showing off EAX on the SBLive 4 channel cards.
Second, it only installs 3 of the 6 maps if you have the Unreal SE Demo.
Third, the maps are all mediocre in layout.

Also, the S3TC Map Pack sucks. Although visually beautiful, just like UnrealAO is beautiful in terms of sound, the playability is null.

One, all their maps were stolen. Two, the whole SphereX incident. Do a forums search if you have no clue what I'm talking about. Let's just say that he pretended to be an admin and put fellow users in temporary, unecessary fear.
