List of mutators?

Anywhere where I can find more mutators?

About the only places I've found collections of mutators is FileFront, FragHouse modsite, Unreal Central and... I think that's it..

I know that's not all of them but most of the major ones I've been able to find, I know this game has got an unbelievable **** ton of mutators and gametypes I've never seen but since a few years ago most of the sites have been on decline.

If I was to make a list of stuff I might look for, well, something to configure weapon/vehicle damage/death messages/names (Including coloring the names), something to color the names of bots like UTcomp and possibly an AI patch to make them (& Invasion monsters) less simplistic.

I doubt any of that is available, but I don't know much of what is out there so never can be sure.

Moddb can help you out here. Also, you said filefront. Did you use the UT200x specific filefront site here? http://unrealtournament2004.filefront.com/ Then there's UT-files.

Also, google. And I have a collection of mods/muts that you might be interested in. :\

Yup went to the UT2004 specific one.

Also noting that most of the best mods are private on servers but would be great for offline play which drives me nuts.


What kind of mods do you have?

Not true!

As to my other mods, these are the ones I found to be the best.

Ballistic Weapons
Tweaktool
WoRM 2k4
ChaosUT2
U4E2
Mapmixer

And VampirusJR bot for the harder bots.

Half of these mods are mods that can change almost every single aspect of your UT game for you especially Tweaktool. The other half are weapons mods for you to play around with. You'll probably be coming back to Ballistic Weapons the most though as the quality of the weapons is utterly unbeatable. Not to mention the other mods and weapons that people have made for BW. Alll this coupled with the plethora of user-made levels at unreal playground and other numerous sources will keep you busy until you die.

Depend on the mod, I guess, but the best RPG version I've ever seen was on a server where it was updated specifically for it. Never was able to find the download.

I actually have Ballistic Weapons, Chaos & U4E2, now the others I have never heard of before. Especially that bot tweak mod. Gonna give them a try.

Well, actually you can tweak the bots without any mods by using the bot config in the vanilla game if that's what you're looking for. The vampirus bot mod will just make the bots much harder.

I already had my bots customized to the maximum, but was getting tired of them playing like retards most of the time, I have only messed around with the mod for a very short time but I've already noticed big changes in their behavior.

Oh yes, the list of changes the guy made were quite extensive. Have you tried out any of the other mods I told you about like Tweaktool?

Oh yes, I forgot one. Advanced Regeneration. A mod where you can set pretty much anything about yourself to regenerate. Health, ammo, adrenaline, and shield.

I did try it, but the only weapons you can modify are the default ones, I've got like 50+ non-default weapons in total and would like to use more of them together without huge imbalances.

Mapmixer is a must-have. You can also find different mods in modmakers' sites, like that of Wormbo. Or even mine, for that matter.

I've been looking for a ammo regenerator mod for ages! The closet I was able to find at the time was RPG & random 1vs1 mods.
Yes, I really needed to dig for it actually. It's a great mod though.

It is very useful and makes every match unique, with random mutators, random map selection, random bot selection or faction selection etc.
Speaking of factions, you might want to try Species Stats Plus. That mutator makes player species matter - for example, Juggernauts are slow and bulky but have a lot of damage resistance, while Gen Mo'kai are very fast but die easily.

Good to hear that :) In that case, make sure you update to RC3 of that mod once it's released, there is a lot of bug fixes there already.

Any idea how to get the Botmixer's team bot roster to stop cutting the total amount down to 8?

I have 13 bots on each team but it refuses to spawn all of them, I changed the .ini to include all of them but even it is only using the first 8 bots in each list.

There is no options or documentation explaining the 8-bot restriction nor anything to work-around it, I tried setting all of them as a team leader but even that won't help.



When a Bot Team is selected, it may be that not all bots in that team will be used (See Player Counts option below.)

So I scroll down to Player Count section of the help file.

Match Player Counts
MapMixer has the ability to adjust the number of players for each match, depending on the recommended player numbers per map, along with other MapMixer player count settings. If you want this to remain as normal when using BotMixer then you must enable the BotMixer Match Player Counts option, otherwise when a Bot Team is selected, the whole Team is used!


My "Match Player Counts" option is turned OFF. The helpfile itself says this is what will cause it to use the whole team, WHY is it restricting the number to eight bots only?
It seems to be regardless of the map player-count.

Odd, I never get that behaviour, but then again, I don't use BotMixer since it doesn't go that well in terms of balance with Species Stats Plus.
