UE3 - UT3 Level transitions.

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. Hello everyone,

I was hoping someone could explain what a level transition is and what exactly it entails...

I'm fairly comfortable with UE3 and I heard someone mention this today but I had absolutely no idea what they were referring to.

Any info is appreciated.

Level transition=Level Streaming? If so, check out this tutorial and also this one.

From my understanding, it loads a new level so you can have what seems like a huge level, but split up into different map files.

I think this is only used on single player games though. If you have played Portal, every time you go into a lift, a new level is being loaded (from what I can tell).
