hey the ka-bar in inf 2.8 could have 2 modes of use; primary fire should be your average slash and secondary fire should be when you're close enough and behind the guy you reach from behind and slit his throat... this would take longer but would cause instant death... whaddya think?

If you just slit their throat they can gargle the blood in their trachea and thrash around on the ground for a little bit... sever the spine in the correct spot and it'll be over before it started.

The Ka-Bar has two 'fire-modes' in the moment and a combo attack style of both of them. So you have a stab and a slash. And if you hit the head you cause instant death.
I think this is quite normal or /infopop/emoticons\icon_wink.gif Such a knife stabbed into a head will normally kill everyone.... so we don't need these bloody mess out of action and horror movies... hehe... its bloody enough this way.

yeah but it's gonna take a heck of a lotta energy to drive a knife through someones skull... so if you're stamina is low mebbe the knife will just get embedded in his skull but without enough penetration to prove fatal... then we can see a guy running around the level with a knife stuck to his head /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif lol

The best way to kill someone with a knife quietly is to grab their head, hoik it back and drive the knife into the brain, at the base of the neck where the brain meets the spinal cord. So, a stab around the back of the neck WOULD kill you and the "headshot" thing is pretty realistic I think.

yes. The only other way I know to kill someone with a knife - quiet and effective - is stabbing in his lounge through his back. So no sound/voice anymore. But this is not as simple to script like the 'headshot' thing. So this will be the 'normal' way to use the knife for instant death. And we don't want to copy any kind of movie-style here /infopop/emoticons\icon_wink.gif

What? I don't know if you just finished watching face-off again and decided to post a quotation from it, but when you are slicing necks open and jamming knives into the backs of heads, you really don't worry about wounds closing, the people you cut up will be dead long before wounds even begin to close, and in some cases, they'll be dead before their blood hits the ground.

Hey, the most effective way of killing someone with a knife is the following:

Fire three to four rounds into his knees, shoulders and guts..
Be sure he ain't got no way of shooting anymore..
Go over to the victim and do whatever you like with your knife..

Hey what about taking someones head with you as a trophy(just like in this game named like the film where Schwarzenegger fight with this evil Alien..) or maybe take someones scalp..

I saw that too, on some show about emergency rooms on the discovery channel... but I think it *was* right down the middle, I'm guessing that's how he survived, the blade went in between the 2 hemispheres of his brain and did minimal damage.
