I've come to a decision

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

After much thought I've finally come to the decision on which servers I will be keeping. As of today my Ilan servers (69.28.241.110 and 65.39.207.60) will no longer be available for use. (This should be of no surprise since the pings were so ****ty I wouldn't even recommend them to my worst enemies.) I will be keeping their teamspeak server though for now at least until I can find another provider with just as reasonable price as Ilan has for it's ts services.
You can continue to use the Griffin Run server I have if you want, I don't intend on getting rid of it anytime soon and from what I can see it runs decently enough except for the lag you get when Safegame is doing its checks as long as no one comes in during the middle of the game it normally will run well. Perhaps anyone have any suggestions on that. I thought about changing to the new antitcc 118e but from my understanding Safegame is a bit better in catching all types of bots. One other suggestion I thought of was perhaps changing the password and not advertising it to anyone outside of clan members maybe even disable the anticheat all together and go on an honor system among ourselves just a thought. It makes no difference to me if outsiders can or can't make it into my server as long as my clan mates can. ;) :D .

Hey dude, its your servers, you can do what you want with them. At one time we were thinking of putting a private password on ours and removing the anti-cheat. The reason for that was the Lag that the anti-cheat caused, and because we said " **** the community ". But since we're going to be joining the ladders again soon, we pretty much can't do that.

If we're just going to play between ourselves, then we can remove the anti-cheat simply because I think we all trust each other. We don't have any *******s here except for me sometimes  (and maybe mav  )

Ladder matches require the latest version of either safegame or A-TCC. I recommend TCC because it runs better. And we caught some noob with the zellius bot the other night when we were checking out some maps ;) .

I'll change around the server page and remove the two ILAN servers.

You and your 20 ping...

Yeah I know, I just want us to have a good time on the server without having to worry about lag or cheaters.....cough, mav's'ahxinClanKilla,cough.... :D

Correct me if I wrong but I think I can remove the server package line in the ut2004 ini that points to safegame and then just load it only when necessary for scrims or matches but not for regular playing among ourselves that could also be an option. I don't know if that would work though it may. If anyone knows then let me know.

PS. We wuv u MavyPoop.<<<<<srry typo, sortof...... ;)

Wha?
As far as the honor system goes; I trust you folks completely.

Besides, like I stated in the trial mailing I send out to everyone who asks for a trial;

Cheating is a drop with prejudice.

We train people to help them get better at what they wanna be... if yer gonna cheat, all you'll ever be is a wannabe.

MadDog, you can make as many different UT2004.ini's as you need.
Example: UT2004_NoSec.ini (Remove Mention of all SafeGame and UTComp & Any other packages you don't wan to run.)
UT2004_Ladder.ini (Set up for Ladders, which means No Extra Packages)
UT2004_Public.ini (Run what ever you want)

You don't have to physically delete system/files but you do need to remove the ServerPackages=?? and don't forget Map Vote Rules. Anyway its a shame ILAN kinda sucks for game servers. Talk to ya tonite..
