Is This Possible?

I read the server page which seems to imply that i could set up a simple server, which i could play on with a friend, by clicking the net play button. But they dont go indepth enuff. They dont tell u what else is needed to be done. Because when i try to launch a game this way infiltration crashes! IS this possible??!! If so how????

It certainly is possible, I do it all the time.
Is this over a lan, or online?
Is your network set up correctly?

I am trying to play online, not lan, with a friend using my computer as the host. As for my network settings , how exactly would i set those? It seems to work fine for normal online play. Thank you.

Well, if you can play online, i guess the networks settings(outside of ut) are ok...
But it seems some computers just cant seem to host games. I dunno what it is, and I only know 3 computers that do this... one of them is yours.
Never heard of a solution for this.
Can you try having your friend host?

I tried to host a game for my freind and me to play in, but he sais he can't see it on the server list.

I just choose my map and setting in the GAME menu, then I swich the swich from LOCAL WAR to NET WAR and press LAUNCH. Is that all you have to do? When I click the SVR button it closes INF (which is a GREAT annoynace since it takes a full minute to start the application again) and I get a little UT icon in my task bar, "Unreal Server". Is this a dedicated server or something???

Im an ass. I had unreal 432 installed not 436 that was my prob. as for you harp, that little icon is a dedicated server.... you dont want that if you wanna play while runnin a server. Go to server configg and put advertise server on. then do the net play and that should end up workin and showin the server to your friend. Hope this helps, let me know how it turns out.
