After watching the first PotC, I wondered if i could make a mod of sorts.
You see, in this mod, all one would have to do to become invulnerable (Receive no health damage unless you walk off the level boundaries of course) and have unlimited lives is to go to a very specific marked spot on the map. After doing this, the player will be invulnerable for an unlimited amount of time WITH SOME NASTY PENALTIES of course.
1. Your score will be reset to 0 and will stay at 0 no matter what you or anyone does.
2. It will say next to your name if you are cursed.
3. You will not be able to win the current game at all. You will not be able to capture the flag. You will not be able to destroy/hold assault or onslaught objectives.
4. After some time, a red tint will begin to fill your screen from the "pain" of it.
If one wants to return to their normal state, they need only simply go back to that specific spot of the level again after a set amount of time has past.
Yeah, the mod's pretty pointless if you think about it but it might turn out to be interesting online. Or, if you made it really configurable, you could use it as a simple, plain, invulnerability powerup. Which is something that is surprisingly missing from UT
