some of you may hate this: have some bots as a passive non-violent character that does not pick up weapons or fight. they can run around and roam the maps but if you kill one the damage is inflicted on you. heh? hows that... i know its probably next to impossable but it would be cool. plus , if you get bored you can go kill them with god mode on.

hahaha it would be an interesting addition.

that might work well for assault, instead of getting to a final objective, you have to escort a VIP out of a combat zone.

that might be a good mod for someone else to write so it could be used in Inf and other gametypes

Well the idea isn't bad but are we really in need of civils? Ok maybe for an assault map where you have to kill somebody but I don't think there will be many ppl running on a battlefield without a weapon. Also it isn't realistic when you shoot someone you take the damage maybe some penalty points?

But in war time, killing enemy civilians is done all the time. If a battle takes place in a village, there are bound to be some villagers running around, and if they get killed they get killed (I believe it's called collateral casualities,so something like that).

Kind of like the Nali Cows

hate to be so cold about it but war is hell.

however in assault, there could be some sort of hostage rescue or assination scenario. Or some sort of SpecOps mission that takes place in an inhabited office building or something.

In SWAT they have hostages (very stupid hostages) I don't know if that would fit in with the MilSim feel of INF or if that would be too CT.

It seems like some of the bots already do that in SWAT, they just walk around and do nothing. Back to the point, The civis would be cool on a map like Kosovo or something. How about losing money or something when u kill a civi?

Sorry if this is a bit off-topic:
In SWAT the hostages sometimes pick up glocks and start shooting the terrorists, but this may or may not be a mistake. Also, as Inf is a mod about war, and not about counter-terrorism hostages probably are unnecessary.

NPC's

first off the only thing you would get for shooting aninocent in war would be a court marcial or somthing, and then only if your supiereors found out, so no loosing money, besides all your moneys spent at the begining right? secondly the only reason to inlude an NPC would be for assassination or rescue purposes in an asault map.

After thinking about it I don't think the INF team should be the ones to worry about creation of NPCs.

Shouldn't NPCs be the responsibility of the map makers anyway?

Oh yeah, another quick point; Civilian doesn't always equal innocent. /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Well, couldn't you just have civilians hiding in basements? Ya could have one team being a nazi death squad, having to find and kill the civis, and the other having to defend em. And anyway, in Halflife the best thing was scientist killing =)

"They're waiting for you gorden...in the..."
WHACK!
"Stop attacking, he's a friend"
WHUMP!
"Hey! Back off buddy"
WHACK WHACK WHACK!
"You want some of....."
WHACK WHACK WHACK BANG!

See, how fun would it be to do that in inf. Run into a basement.
"Oh thank god, a rescue team!"
"Have you come to get....."
WHACK WHACK!
"Noooo! They are....."
WHACK WHACK WHACK!

heh
