to the infiltration staff. THIS IS NOT A REAL WAR! so please give back the gamers way of aiming which is with the ut cross hairs or at least give us the option with a tweak screen. also maybe an auto run tweak. also those 50.cal machine guns need better sites as the only thing they can hit is the brod side of a barn. give us some ropes to scale walls. give us c-4 explosives. give us a portable med kit. give us vehicles to run over the enemy with. give us a recon and reinforcement tweak button. give us more radio like transmitions that include more detailed commands for the bots. give us what we want and we'll repay you by buying your full version of the game, at a reasonable price i hope or we may go for something in the tom clancy section.

Inf may not be a real war but the team is trying to make it as close to one as they can /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
Remember, the main goal of Inf is realism, not gameplay. Besides, many of us like using the iron sites /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

The only thing that is better than cheap is free /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

For the sake of argument, I'm going to assume you were joking. Basically, everything you've suggested would turn Infiltration into the Unreal Tournament equivalent of Counter-Strike. Infiltration is aiming for total and complete realism. If you don't like realism, maybe you should find a different mod (i.e. TacOps or, to a lesser extent, Strike Force).

WOAH! newbie attack !

ok commando lets sort you out

1. when they make a helmet or something, where a litle green cross comes up and shows where the gun points, you can have a crosshair.

Auto run tweak ?? isn't a toggle key good enough?

the M2HB .50 is massively powerful, the sights actually do work if you line them up properly, but this isn't an easyu thing to do, just guesstimate the center of your screen.

The medkits are coming, sort of, soon you wont just lose health when your shot, you'll bleed and keep bleeding until you either die or bandage yourself.

C4 ?? aren't 'nades good enuff ?? keep in mind, this isn't counter-strike, its better.

alos, what full version ?? this *IS* the full version! and your getting it for the best possible price, FREE

Crosshairs helmet.

Actually, they do have helmets that allow soldiers to see exactly where they're aiming. It's part of the OICW that the US Army is developing. The rifle has a camera/laser system mounted on top of the 40mm grenade launcher and its info is fed into an eyesight that the soldier wears. Remarkable technology. But at the earliest, it'll be 2002 before they cycle these things out to the troops so I guess it gives the INF team about two years to not worry about the crosshairs.

Umm, the cannon is underslung beneath the primary gun of the OICW, so it would be impossible to have the "scope" on top of it. I don't know enough about the OICW though, but i've gathered that it is not quite up to standard yet.

Problem with new tech is that it's usually just more stuff to break. And if you want to protect it from breaking, it usualy ends up too bulky or heavy for it to be used in battle.

Now, as an assist for sniping... A scope with a digital zoom would be nuts! Not to mention that the digital zoom wouldn't need optics as large as a regular scope, reducing the sniper's visibility further. Hmm.. nasty thoughts...

1. The OICW grenades are 20mm, not 40mm.

2. The helmet with the visor that allows you to see through a camera on the gun (as well as info databases, gps maps, etc) is part of the "Land Warrior" system. The land warrior uses a modified M4 with a camera... if you ask me the OICW is heavy and complicated enough without combining it with the land warrior.

3. 2002 is way too early of a projection for the OICW. IF the thing doesn't get scrapped or started again from scratch as 1 weapon instead of 2 in 1 (like it should, IMHO), it's still not expected to see action earlier than 2005.

4. The 20mm grenade launcher isn't underslung, it's on top of the 5.56.

Of course by then the INF team will have have coded an AI that just looks at the gun, models it, skins it, and adds it to the game, so no sweat. /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

the OICW is a composite of two weapons, a 20mm 'nade launcher, which fires a $20 per round 'nade implanted with computer stuff so you can program distance to detonate ETC, and a modified H&K G3 underslung to the 'nade launcher, which features the trigger to both weapons.

Land Warrior, helmet mounted reticle

I am VERY doubtful of the effectiveness of the LW aiming system. As an example; get a motorcycle helmet, draw a dot on the visor with a crayon or something. Make sure it is big enough to see. Put it on and adjust it so the "aim-point" is where you want. Tighten that sucker down as much as possible and run as fast as you can for 10 meters. Remember someone is shooting at you!

Now, I defy you to tell me that the aim-point didn't bounce around like crazy. It is probably nowhere near the same spot in your field-of-view as before.

You didn't even fall to your stomach or bump your helmet on something. Imagine shooting your rifle as the target dot bounced around independent of the actual line of fire.

This my main problem with a remote site arrangement like LW. Any kind of helmet mounted "peep sight" just doesn't sound like a great idea. Unless the entire field of view is capable of displaying the crosshair as the rifle moves around, I would like my sights mounted to my rifle please. Maybe I can't shoot around corners as well, but I have SOME hope of hitting something without a minute of adjusting my helmet first.

I have not used the OICW or Land Warrior system. I have some doubts anyway.
