I read that the mutator was expected out this week, and it's friday, so I was wondering if you guys had a tenative release date?

Yeah, I was planning on posting a news update regarding the mutator status, along with a nice chunky weapons update too- fact is, real life(c) is taking it's toll and we MAY get it out by Sunday or so- it's that close- but it's not bug free enough to release now.
We'll also make a patch to the mutator once the retail version of UT is released.

hey i was wondering, im sure you know this, so i wasnt worried
in an online game you still cant lock the weapon in firing position as of beta j, i was just seeing if that was gonna be fixt in the next beta it was the biggest problem i ran into

Ok, first off, please don't post anything regarding beta status.. if you have problems and you are a beta tester, email myself and I'll get a response to you.
The mutator will only have 2.6 weapons.. all new weapons will be added to version 3. The reason why the mutator is taking so long is because we have one coder working on it, he lives in Germany, and well- he's got a life- imagine that /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif It will be out shortly. We'd just rather not have to make a patch, unless it's for the retail version of UT.

Regarding the PSG-1 on DM-Morpheus: There wouldn't be a whole lot of use for that. By the time the PSG-1 is zoomed in someone else with an MP5 will have turned you into a leaky piece of meat. The two guns I'm looking forward to the most in Inf 3.0 are the FN P90 and the SIG 551 SWAT.
I still think the game needs an AK-105S.

The weapons I'm looking forward to use are the HK G11 and HK SMG2.
And I think the game still needs ... nothing, It's gonna be perfect in V3.

The usefulness of the PSG-1 really depends on how fast you can aquire and zoom on a target. If you want to substitute Spray-and-Pray(tm) for skill, that's up to you. Now, please leave me to my delusions of grandeur.
