In a clan? Not in a clan? Please read this anyways.

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

In the past few weeks, I and a few others have noticed increased amounts of Clan activity in #infiltration on irc.utchat.com/irc.utgames.com.

With the arrival of version 2.87 the expected amount of players is drasticly going to increase due to publicity and word of mouth. We've taken the liberty to register an alternate channel for clan members who don't have a meeting place to go before a match, wish to plan a match, or just shoot the shi<b></b>t with other clanners.

We welcome everyone into #infiltration and we are not asking clan members to leave #infiltration, we enjoy your company. But with that I would also like to include that we simply don't give a hell about operation desert green code alpha flank left. Tactics and clan activities are not wanted in #infiltration.

You however are. We have taken the time to set up another channel for you. Since there is an alternative now, we will be putting a stop to match and tactical discussion in #infiltration.

All discussion relating to planning matches, preparing for matches, and discussing the aftermath will now take place in #infclans If in fact you do not understand this or do not see this and neglect to read the nice pretty topic like everybody neglects to do, then we will ask you to take the discussion to #infclans

Those of you who are not firmiliar with IRC (Internet Relay Chat) its very simple. You can go to www.mirc.com and download mirc 5.91 for Windows 3.1/95/98/2000/ME/XP. Its simple to install, just run the application and click "Install". Its idiot proof, but remember still not deathren proof. Going with it being deathren proof I'm warning you now, he might show up at any point in time.

Once the application is installed it will display a dialogue box displaying the "About" information of mIRC. Close this and you will be displayed with a menu box. Fill in your email address, name, nickname, and an alternate nickname incase the primary is already taken. Once you've completed this simply click 'Ok'.

You will then be brought to your "Status window" type the folliwing commands:

/server irc.utchat.com <ENTER>

Wasn't that hard? It gets alot harder. Wait for the client to connect to the server. Once this is done type this command:

/join #infiltration

Welcome to #infiltration.

For those who don't want the hassel of this, you can use a few other methods aswell. One being that you can load UT, or Infiltration and in the Multi-Player browser go to the 'Chat' tab. You will then be warned that you will be connecting to a relay network, you MUST click 'Yes' to this dialogue or your client will not allow you to access port 6667, 6668, or 6669.

If this method is not appealing to you, there is one last way. Simply open your Internet browser and go to the following URL/FQDN www.planetunreal.com/infiltration/chat Here you will have a ***VERY BASIC*** Java client which will enable you to join #infiltration with 1 click of a button. You can only have limited use of commands if you use this method aswell. I suggest getting the actual mIRC32 client and going from there.

You may have to tell your firewall to enable access to port 6667, 6668, & 6669. These ports are most common for IRC servers. If these ports are blocked you will not be able to access the network with any of the 3 methods listed above.

I've included also some standard commands which are commonly used with any variant of Irc. Remember that ALL COMMANDS BEGIN WITH A LEADING SLASH!!!

Nessesary commands:

/server irc.domain.com - connects client to specified server
/join #channel - joins specified registered channel, you can join multiple channels.
/me falls - Displays emoted text:
*Pacman falls

CTCP Commands

/ctcp nickname page text - sends a "page" notification to specified user
/ctcp nickname ping - "Ping"'s target client giving a network latency between both of you
/ctcp nickname version - Sends Version command to target client.
/ctcp nickname finger - Sends finger command to target client.

DCC Commands (Direct Client Connection)

/dcc chat nickname - Opens a Direct connection chat window between you and specified user. /dcc send nickname filename.ext - Sends user file which you have specified.

***Note that these are Client to Client connections. Which means that it does NOT route through a relay, and does NOT require a connection to be maintained with the server.

/whois nick - displays host, channel, and server information.

Thank you for your co-operation, and we hope to see you all on irc :)
