Flight's in the UK have now reopened at the airport's discression. i.e they will all open so they don't lose money despite safety factors.

The sad thing is, the way air travel insurance works the passengers have no real choice, take the flight or find another way home.
If the airline re-books a flight and you're on it you HAVE to take it or they don't owe you a trip home anymore and won't compensate your predicament any further(assuming they were in the first place.)

I've heard some airlines only paid for a single nights stay at a cheap hotel and then left passengers to their own devices. Whilst Cathay Pacific is hosting it's stranded passengers at 5 star hotels and paying for food.
