I want TAS gameplay info!

The TAS game mode is outstanding cool, the end of TDM for me I think. Still I'm a newbie to TAS: Is there a site where info about the gameplay TAS (Take And Secure) can be found. For example I wonder how to use the GPS effective, how to bind keys to communicate things as you position and more. If theres no site, perhaps people with knowledge can tell some nice secrets about TAS?

It's time to write a new DTAS/GPS tutorial - the old one from ben got sucked into a big black /dev/null.

I'll make it quick:
DTAS is defenders vs. attackers. The roles switch each round. Blue starts defending.

The last one in the defending team who joined the game will spawn a flag about 10s-15s after the game has started. It just appears at his position. If you are not sure whether you will spawn the flag or not, assume you will.

Attackers have to:
a) either kill all defenders
or
b) get with 2 men in a range of 15m around the flag, the so called cap radius, and stay there for 10s. This way the objective gets captured.

Defenders can:
a) kill all attackers (n), since attackers cannot capture anymore with less then 2 men defenders already win when they kill n-1 attackers.
b) keep 2 men in a range of 15m around the flag and stay there. This way they can stop the attackers from capturing. The attackers now have to attack these 2 defenders and kill at least one of them.

The cap-area is a cylinder, 15m in radius and somewhat high. I don't know how high, but it's allways worth a try to cap from the floor below or above. It's the duty of the defenders to keep 2 men in range and block these so-called blindcaps.

Now someone else do the GPS part plz :)

- when defending, stay close to the flag ;)
- ask the last player that entered your team to go to a safe location ( he will put the flag )
- tas is area capture not LOS
- never rush to the flag even on defence, says i am falling back and move normally
- kill Midwinter while you can.

This is somthing is see quite often in INF. If you are defending i often hear people say, " where you going? Stay close to flag to defend." But tactics are not so simple in INF. (well in TAS anyways) Yes, this is a very good tactic to use, I wont disagree. However, One thing i find to work over and over again, is to head far away from the flag in some remote area, and pick off the team trying to capture the flag.... Most often it works just as well as "staying close to the flag." Just make sure you dont get flanked. ;)

Yes that does work as long as not everyone on your team does that. So communication is required which usually not a problem with people who play a lot together.

BTW I found my long winded explanation of RAv2, DTAS and other goodies but since 2.9 is coming out and no one doesn't seem to play and everyone knows how I guess there is no point inflicting it on the world again.
