I would like to be able to strife and turn at the same time with my joystick. I have a MS forcefeedback pro and it works in soldier of fortune and would like it to work in UT as well. The left and right movents are for strifing and the twisting action turns the guy.....so you can be running and strife and twist at the same time.
    any ideas???

I can do that already with my lame keybooard&trackball combi.

But for your question... UT has to interprete the signals from you stick and links them with the assigned control settings... I don't quite believe you can assign a control to the twisting motion if UT doesn't support it... and if it would support it, it should be an option in the base configuration...

On the other hand, maybe the referrer can be added in the user.ini manually - ya could try to find it in the config of SoF and copy it into UT... I had to do something similar with ONI.

A trackball is somewhat like a mouse tuned bottom up; you move the ball with your thumb. I find it more practical than a mouse, but it took me awhile to get used to.

I see what I call a trackball is a rollerball for you... stupid German habit of inventing new English names for things that alread have names in English. Like "Handy" = cellular phone.

Damn "my" people. Retarded fags, exceptions prove the rule.

What do they call it in GB, France etc?

There's only one reason I can think of for why UT would even bother having joystick support, and that's this. (though I'd rather just use the keyboard)

There's a reason why UT isn't big on consoles: no mouse. So why limit yourself with a joystick, when a two button mouse can be had for $10, and one with a third button roller for just $15?

Played UT on a PS2 at a friend's b-day party. Control was absolutely terrible.

    *see pic above
I use the mouse to look and aim....I just use the joystick to move....fire with the triggure...next weapon with the left thumb switch.....jump and duck with the two thumb buttons on the right....and 4 taunts with the hat switch.
