I hear XP does not support Java

    I know it is not installed by default. But can it can run it? I have Java homework to do.

    No, XP doesn't come with Java pre-installed.

    Yes, you can install it via windows update :)

    Get both Microsoft's and Sun's JREs, because some apps seem to prefer Sun's JRE, while MS apps seem to seek out the MS version.

    XP does support JavaScript by default, but not full blown Java. Java support was dropped from a disagreement between Sun and MS. Personally, i have the Sun version installed
    just thought i'd point this out so the issue doesn't confuse anyone else reading this

    I downloaded the Java Runtime installed when I heard XP didn't have it. So far, no problems.
