i cant see my server in the server list

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

[ IpDrv.TcpNetDriver ]
ServerTravelPause=3.0
NetServerMaxTickRate=15
MaxClientRate=5000

[IpServer.UdpServerUplink]
DoUplink=True

[IpDrv.UdpBeacon]
DoBeacon=True

Run the server. If you still dont see it check the server log. If there's an entry like 'could not resolve master server address (***)', edit the ini and delete the offending server.

Yeah as zynthetic said..

the trick in that is the douplink true

But if that doesnt work and you have a router youll need to make sure that the port is open for the master server list..

For further tweaks you can go to
http://www.planetunreal.com/TheAdminPage/

and altho its set for ut servers its still good info for Unreal servers

cheers

Is it really not there? Try connecting to the ip after it's running.
If so; what OS and are you using a router/ics or anyting of that sort.

i can connect through my other computer
and i can see it through the lan menu but not through any of the other menus

the way i have my computers set up is my desk top is directly connected to the dsl modem and the lap top is connected through a wireless card thingy

i normally would run the server through the desktop and connect with the laptop

but when i did this the other night, i couldnt see my server
so i went to my desktop and launched unreal to try and connect to the deticated server, and i still couldnt see it

now my dsl modem does have a built in firewall, but all the ports are opened

i dont see why my server isnt going through

both are running xp pro and the modem is a 2wire homeportal 1000 series http://www.2wire.com/home/hp_index.html

I hope the modem firewall has customizable ports thru the software control.

if its disableable, use a software firewall, like the free one
by ZoneAlarm.

I have the same trouble showing the server,
I turned off my firewall as a test and voila it shows.

open 7776-7779. Unreal defaults to 7777 but may use others if it's already in use.

i did do that, then that didnt work, so i opened ALL of the ports and it still didnt show up

but anyways im back on cable now, so it shows

i was havin' same problem

You have LAN....
Lets say, your LAN IP is set to 192.168.0.2, and Computer name is "Another"

So, look at the log - it saying: Ia Am Another(192.168.0.2)

Problem is, servers checking this invalid IP (i mean LAN's IP), not your Internet IP (dialup DSL?)

I solved the problem this way - temporarly disable LAN card, run server, turn LAN on again.

Maybe stupid solution, but works....
If u know the way u can priorize IP addresses, would be really kewl.. Windows makes LAN's IP "more important" than Internet one
