true democracy IS bad, since it allows everybody a voice, no matter how unqualified it may be.
Just an example: imagine if your friends could vote whether you should move state or not. Silly right? Because their opinions don't qualify to decide where you live.
Similarly, most people vote for things they know little to nothing about - so the winning vote often comes out to be the most aesthetically pleasing one at the time.
Ideally (and impossible to achieve), voting should only be done by people who actually know BOTH sides of the vote to a degree of depth that would qualify their decision.
