How to combine unrealscript2 and C++ (eye tracker API)?

Hi,
If I have understood correctly, there is no way to call DLL functions from unrealscript UE2 (that this feature was introduced in UE3) -- so with UE2, what is the work around to combine C++ code to call API functions and unrealscript? I am trying to link UE2 with SR Research's EyeLink Eye Tracker to send messages from UE2 to the eye tracking logs (connected via TCP/IP). Any pointers and examples would be greatly appreciated!!!
