How do you play Inf online?

How do you play INF Online?!

hi everyone, i know this must sound like the dumbest question but i dont know how to play Infiltration Online.
i know it has to do with 2.75. well i have 2.85 with the patches but i had never installed 2.75, so i recently did. but i cant find any INF server lists or whatnot.

so could somebody just list what i need to do to play online?

Well you have 2 options:

1. Wait for 2.86 to come out (hopefully within a week or two and download.

or

2. You don't need 2.75 to run infiltration online, it is completely different than 2.85. This may be a little confusing, but bear with me.

-First download 2.85, 2.80 map pack, 2.85.3 patch, 2.85.5 patch, and 2.85 map pack - then install in that order.

If you want other maps, go to www.planetunreal.com/realmaps/ and download some of the monthly map packs.

The downloads are quite large and time consuming, but are well worth the time!

now what do i do once in infiltration? do i just check off "net war" then start a game like i always would by flipping off the launch switch?

Unfortunately the current HUD display is somewhat confusing. To access online play you need to hit the small "BRS" (Browser) button to access the online servers. It's nearly identical to the UT server browser.

Oh, be sure to set your connection speed in the "NET" button. Select Modem, DSL/Cable, Lan - whatever you use to access the internet. It'll help with packet loss and ping.

There are more advanced tweaks to get better pings, but this should work so you can access online gaming.

i clicked the BRS button but it had servers for every UT game (Air fight, TO, UT) except Infiltration! where is the Infiltration tab?

are you in the current version, 2.85.5? The display will list all the tabs for other gametypes, but the only servers that scroll down should be infiltration servers.

i have 2.85.5. once i open Inf. i click "Net War" and then click BRS.
once in there the heading at the top of the page is "Unreal Tournament Server Browser". There all loads of tabs which are all either Airfight ones or the different types of games (DM, T DM, etc.). Once you click, for instance, DM, the servers scroll down and they are all UT ones. the places and all are UT.

I cant find any Infiltration ones so could someone tell me where they should be or how to get there?!

Sorry man, but you're prob's beyond me now. Either someone will be along with a solution or just wait until 2.86 comes out.

At least then you won't have to worry about some of the bugs out now.

A solution ?

I have Inf on a Mac too. It runs well offline, but every time I clicked the BRS button, the server browser window opens and then, nothing happens, the cursor is stuck. I have to reboot the computer (**** that!!!!).
I thought about a workaroud, involving GameRanger. Using it you should be able to access Inf servers. But launch Infiltration prior to choosing a server, otherwise it would start the standard UT.
I will try this method tonight, i'll see if it works...
I must say that I didn't install all the mods following the order given higher in thethread, but then why would it work offline ?

It works !

I could play my first Inf online game this night. It rocks. I used the method I described above.
