How about some invasion?

    I know invasion sucks on 2004 without any mutators. However it's gotten much better then it used to. I play on a server that has excessive weapons, rpg, monster manager, satore monster pack, and a few other things. Makes great fun. However if they do add invasion to the next unreal... HAVE SMARTER ENEMIES. One of the major flaws in invasion is most of the monsters do one thing, try to shoot you, and they fail at that miserably half the time. They even attack each other occasinally -_-. They really gotta fix that. Any opinions?

    You're describing the whole point of invasion, you're also pointing out why it's not going to be included (yet) which is that you're playing something that isn't actually what they made, but a mash of mutes.

    Envy is going to be a slimmed down UT, and redeveloping *all* the monsters for the enw engine would be daft. Best chance of invasion again is a mod, from the fraghouse or such.

    I guess a better suggestion is having some RPG elements to some of the gametypes. Sort of like the ut2004 RPG mutator. Except not as overboard and would only count for that match. If you've played natural selection for half-life you'd know what i'm talking about. I think having elements like that game would make it great in many ways.

    The whole point of inv. is to have stupid enemies in a mass number attack you wave after wave until you die. Just imagine them with good AI, you wouldnt get past wave 2.

    better yet, when they use the physics processing unit, each of the invasion monsters can have ragdoll physics applied so it looks like Lord of the Rings

    Please no, no invasion. It should be a addon gametype or a mutator, but it shouldn't be in as stock.

    Having the monsters attack each other was done on purpose. Maybe if you played vanilla Invasion and stopped using all those crap mutators, it'd be a little harder and you wouldn't have to come here begging or harder enemies. :)

    after 2 days of constant RPG, you get used to the so called "advantages" of it, more health, constant berserk, more ammo; then, you just get used to it and if you play a regular DM you just get faked up
    the RPF stuff is definitely a drug

    Sine you don't know what i'm talking about and didn't read me post, allow me to repeat.

    It would only count for that match. Meaning you play the game mode, you get benefits and after somebody wins, you lose your benefits and you have to gain them again on the next match.

    On natural selection you can make structures and you have a commander who distributes the resources that you get from the structures. Understand? Good, the commander can choose to use the points and spawn armour/weapons/ammo/health. Sort of like how on onslaught when a team captures a node and they get vehicles do use on there team. Having extra adren and stuff like that would ruin it.

    Also to the other person. I wasn't begging for harder enemies, I just commented on how they could improve invasion if they decided to put it in. However it doesn't seem like that's going to happen. It's not a big deal to me. If this new conquest mode does justice i'm all for it. What the heck is vanilla invasion. Also the mutators aren't crappy, you probably haven't even tried any of the ones i've mentioned. They do make the game easier but it is more fun. I never said I wanted it to be harder, I just simply said I want them to smarter.

    So far i'm not getting a good impression on this board. :rolleyes:

    Vanilla invasion rules. In my opinion any mutator used in it totally ruins the flow of the game and turns it into a skill-less spam-fest. If that appeals to you.. so be it. But don't say the monsters are dumb... come play on Sudreal and say that after a few waves. Try pumping the difficulty a little bit.
    I would love to see INV in the new UT with it's crappy old monster models anyways.

    And sorry if T2A's comment above seemed a little "rude" but you have to understand, we are both in a vanilla invasion clan. If I went onto a forum and posted my first thread, and my first line was "We all know CTF without mutators sucks" don't you think I'd get some flack from the CTF regulars? hmmmmmmmmmmmm???? Damn right I would. I'd worry a little more about your own first impression. ;) :D

    (Natural Selection = most unbalanced mod ever)

    I'm aware it's unbalanced. I'm not praising, it has it's ups and downs.

    I've tried to find sudreal servers, but I can't find them.

    I only enjoy spamming in invasion, any other pc game or game mode I disapprove.

    I'm not worried about my first impression, i'm also not meaning to come off as jerk either. Just like to voice my opinions. Be fortunate your not dealing with punks who have biased opinions.I do like invasion in almost any form. I do not like it totally basic and everybody goes there own seperate ways. Gets everybody killed and ruins the fun of it.

    like, have invasion in places that are meant for invasion, not in just any deathmatch level, because deathmatch levels tend to make people go their own seperate ways, but proper invasion maps like that helmsdeep one have a structured flow to it and its kind of abit more fun, well if you dont mind seeing the same guy on the same part of the map racking up thousands of kills if you died...

    i think that invasion + onslaught is the way to go, however you plan to merge the two together... like having the onslaught effect to it will help ease the spam factor of invasion and keep everyone involved... like, even having invasion monsters in a current match of onslaught is enough to spice things up

    Who remembers that ctf mod for UT that would spawn a titan to guard their base if one side was losing by so many caps...
    Imagine an ONS game where your base started spitting out unreal1 monsters when the core was down to a certain %. :D

    It sounds like you never played Unreal.

    Epic simply ported over the monster AI from Unreal iirc and that's how the Unreal monsters act, if they get hit and you're out of sight, they'll attack whoever did the most damage to them. It's fun to watch when a krall and a skaarj are going at it. :)

    Only titan related ctf I remember are those maps...

    Ctf-titania in particular. Each base has a stonetitan (drawscale 1.5 I think)
    Daedalus and... can't remember the other one's name right now >_<

    Fun, but the translocator kind off spoils it (I didnt' use it, would make it too easy and lame..).

    They should make invasion a gametype with it's own maps, and allow vehicles. Maybe one map could be a fortress where you have to survive waves coming from the outside.
