How About An Infiltration Media Pack?

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

I guess this is my way of asking for access to some of the Infiltration logos without having to disect what is here on the site.

You don't need to search, there aren't many things you will find and that's a problem!
I discussed about this issue on the german inf board and I came to the conclusion that we need a set of different banners.
My favorite example how it should be done is the mozilla project and there the Firefox and the Thirebird project.
We need a remarkable, outstanding logo which can be used in different sizes low and high colour pictures.
An pr-site (or an better - read on to know what I mean with it - about_INF page; yes there is a link on the inf page, the 8th link - guess there are less if you aren't logged in - on the menu bar to your left) like http://getfirefox.com/ would be usefull too. All banners should link to it. And there you should have information about Infiltration. Short sentences, strong words (realism isn't an outstanding feature anymore, so many mods claim the reality for themselves), big letters (no 10 or 12 pt letters!), high contrast for an increased legibility. You should have a vision of the game. On this site should also be small coments from reviews on INF like the Firefox example. And the best mod of the month, the Visual Delight Award - both of modDB - should be there as well.
Your first impression visiting this site should be that it is worth to read on. The next should be to download the game.

So what I ask is that there should be an INF Logo contest that there should be a PR Center of people dedicated to create INF Manuals about Mutators ... and should overhaul the official Manual.
The Manual should be seperated into three parts:
1. Quick Action part
2. The acquired a taste for it part
3. How to start a server

ad.1 You have to choose a system - so that you aren't bothered with Mac information while you use a Win PC - and then there is an easy introduction how to install INF. Then you should be asked to start a game to note that you can't choose your weapons the "common" way. Now you will learn about the "v"-menu. Soon you want to know how weapons come into this menu, now you will learn about Loadouts - a step by step explanation. You will create two loadouts. One woah eh roxor loadout with say 100 bulk and another with 25. This way you will be able to introduce the bulk and stamina system which will be understandable and they will see the efect on the game. Now you can tell them about jogging sprinting and maybe about other things ...
ad.2 There you should learn how to create speeches, how to use Claymore Mines ....

These are just thoughts and they need to be structured for sure but my goal would be to cut part one to one page or two pages!
Very important would be to integrate links manuals to of mutators ... in 2 and 3.

Forgot to say why the manual needs an overhaul:
http://infiltration.sentrystudios.net/infmanual/preparation.html
"GETTING INFILTRATION UP AND RUNNING:"
Fine now look at the scroll bar to your right. Yeah it's damn small. Now I'm gonna read everything to "get familiar with the capabilities and features of this new [menu] design."
After the short read of 5500 words I know how great this menu is.
Hell I wanna play that damn game and this as fast as possible.
Ah true, RTFM for this. ;)

Edit: This post may sound insulting, but I tried to express what I mean as easy as possible.

I don't think that infwiki would be a good idea. You could do the same only that you name it "manual" and I rather visit a manual than a wiki but that's only my opinion.
Another backdraw of an encyclopedia system would be that you end up anywhere but not where you wanted to end up. :D

Now that is true. I really used only the unreal wiki site which is run very well but the amount of work is unknown to me.

I withdraw the idea.
