I just loaded up Unreal and played ExtremeDark and I must say that this is one of the best maps in the game. I'd go as far as saying that it's a great example of how many other games need to be made.

The environment is awesome, the music helps out and so does that cool green fog. After playing Unreal Tournament I am afraid that Unreal 2 won't be able to create that same environment that the original Unreal did.

But I have faith in these people and believe that they'll bring out something that will amaze us. I just hope they don't try to focus on multiplayer forms because that's what UT, Quake, etc, are for. Multiplayer games have a long life, friends of mine still play Quake 1, and so I am hoping that the focus of Unreal 2 will to be to create a great single player experience with all + more of the great environment that the original Unreal had.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to Unreal Gold and hope that it has engine improvements for net code (major probs in Na Pali) because a friend and I intend to play Unreal straight through, gonna have to take a few days off from work, heh.

And coop NEEDS to be in Unreal 2 damnit. Sure it's not extremely popular, but it's hella fun, especially if they're going to port this stuff to a console like the PS2.

anyway, sleep

I really do agree with you.
there's nothing out there like the ultimate single player game called UNREAL.
The levels where the bext and the sound was well done.
The next unreal, should have the fallowing:
-1 THE sound from System Shock2
-2 Level desing that still has many great moments. Shocking inviroments just like all the levels did!
-3 The UT game engine for UNREAL2
-3 and last but not least the muiltiplayer code from UT

*Take note that the game should still fallow the same story as the original and still have a little element of multiplayer, Please put an option for modem to modem game play!

You need to know the name of the map as it appears in the Unreal maps folder (this is different than the name you see when the map opens or saves). Then all you need to do is hit tab then type "open mapname" where mapname is the map you chose and no quotes.

Doulbe clicking on the maps in the maps folder used to work for me but doesn't ever since I loaded UT. Now when I try it the system starts UT and looks for the map there. Both games were just standard installs and the Unreal map folder has not been moved or changed since the original install.
Any ideas on why?
