My long search for a realism mod for ut2004 lead me to Infiltration. I read back in my favourite games mag (PCZONE) to find them giving it 92% which I'm pretty sure is the best score they're ever given a mod. So I thought 'why not' and reinstalled my old copy of UT.. And wow. This is without a doubt the most realistic game I've ever played, ever. You devs thought of absolutely everything.. I think I'm going to enjoy playing Infiltration :D

Anyway, I was just wanting to ask a question which is probably very popular, but what the hell.. Have there been any considerations on making an Infiltration TC for ut2004? Have any decisions been made on what engine to use for the next version, if any? The only game that comes close to the realism of Infiltration in 2k4 is Red Opera, but WWII games aren't really my bag.

We got a bonus pack coming with additional weapons and maps. Engine wise, UT2004 and Crytek (Far Cry) are engines among those that are being considered.

Browse the forums. I think you'll find that most questions about choice of engines have been discussed.

Imek, have you had a look at America's Army?

That uses pretty state of the art Unreal technology and is based around the whole realism thing.

Welcome to INF. Do yourself (and the players) a favor and make sure you've read the manual and played offline a little before you hop onto the servers for some online play.

There are new weapons and mutators that are used on the public servers like "Report Direction", "UT Compass", the Community Weapon Mods like the "XM8" and the "M16A4". Lots of things.

One of the importanst thing in INF is to know the maps. As in reality knowing the place where you are going to fight will make life easier. So flying around in maps to get an overview isn't a bad idea. There are also many community maps used on the servers (especially on NA servers), so knowing these one shouldn't be a bad idea. Although as I posted it is just makeing life easier, you can also stick to people knowing the maps or using your compass.
If you want to download community maps you can either get them at www.combatmaps.de (they are more actual atm) or at http://realmaps.beyondunreal.com/ (far more reviews, but not up to date and on a hold)

And if you think INF doesn't offer you enough you should look at mutators which can be found here.

Another note, the gamemodes: Teamgame (normal TDM) and DTAS are most played atm. The newest gamemode is EAS (a "subkind" of EAS is Specialist and it's even more special ;) ) which is especially making fun with Clans (so teamwork is very important here).
In DTAS there is an attacker and one defender team. The latest joined player of the defs places after some time automatically a flag (he gets a note on his HUD). The attackers have either to kill the defs or to capture the flag, (at least two players in less than 15 metres distance), but they can't capture it, if there are two or more defs near the flag.
In EAS there are different missions, often you have to capture a cd.

So I think this should be enough for the beginning ... ah forgot something. In INF you can also play with a ping over 200 it is getting harder but possible (he I even killed people with a ping of 2000-3000 :D ).
