The ram doesnt look that great... and I'm not a fan of that mobo. but the FX chip oh baby!!

The price isn`t too bad, that chip alone sells for around 800. If your into overclocking the FX chips are upwards multiplier unlocked, where-as every other a64 is only downwards unlocked. 4 sticks too only runs at 333mhz, it shows in the one post screen he has. Personally I wouldn`t get anyone of the components, the MB is AGP and the PCI lock doesn`t always work with the NForce3 boards, the CPU is only a single core, and the memory is no name sticks running at 333. Other then that, it`s a good deal.

It`s CAS3 and 2T timing too, that memory must be like mudd for that FX chip!! Can you say bottleneck!!
Only 2 hrs left, still well under the cost of the CPU itself, if you wanted a FX chip.

slower dual core fx processors? I did a little poking around and I did find that these a lot of folks got these babies up to 2.8ghz and 3ghz. I think thats a bit extreme to get out of these chips... but then again I've seen what this 3700 can do. I've got another year before I upgrade again. I'm in no rush.

Yeah, they`ve really been kickin ass lately, and twice the L2 cache as mine and a couple hundred less cash too!! I wish they had been out when I bought my dual core.

I just read off of the inquirer that AMD has stopped production of opteron 939 chips. Seems they realized what they had done and its eating away at their intended enthusist corner.

I was seriously considering both of those, but just too much money. I was expecting the 24" to come down in price when the 30" came out, but on the Dell website that 24" just jumped a hundred bucks in the last week, that`s why I went this other one at 2ms.

I'm pretty downright harsh when it comes to LCD monitors. Those are supposed to be the best out there. Better than the competition which is apples 24" and 30" monitors. I really really want my desktop to be 1920x1200. I'm sure they will come down in price. I just wouldnt buy it directly from dell. Price is too high.

Its sad to see that most high end CRT monitors have dwindled out of production. Now there is only Middle consumer level CRTs low end and Professional. I dont feel like paying the professional price when these 24" LCDs give me more.

Monitor upgrades are always the first thing to buy with a new rig and the last thing people want to upgrade. Considering you will probably spend 5 times that much on graphics cards alone in its lifetime I would consider that a deal.
