Help!!!

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

I have an ancient computer, and I want to upgrade it....
First on my list is memory(128mb). I want to at least double it.
Do I have to buy a specific kind or brand to fit my pc?
I have"and I hate to say it":

Gateway GS-450, Pentium][ prossesor w/128mb ram, and other crappy stuff. I also have an ancient voodoo][ card.

The problem is, I dont know how high I can go with memory, and I dont want to buy one that wont work with my comp.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.....

/me also asks santa for a satellite connection(if they ever get it to work right).:D

the motherboards of pc's of that age can usely take up to 384-512-768 ram, something around those, 512 is the most likely, those numbers where pretty standard at the time when the pc was being made, so 256 ram shouldnt be a prob
and besides that you will prolly (very likely) have SD-Ram, on 100 or 133 mhz, i think 100, but 133 should work with 100 motherboards too normally

though if you want to be sure, try to find the site or something from the motherboard manufacturer and try to find some info there
