I have a GeForce 7600 GT which I have had no problems with before but i'm having trouble with the latest drivers. I'm using a fresh installation of windows due to a rather annoying harddrive failure, but the latest drivers make the card resort to using 4bit colour and a very low resolution. The drivers that came on a disk with the card work fine, but the new ones just seem to disagree with the card completely. I've tried reinstalling the drivers, and redownloading them but they still won't work properly. They are the correct drivers for the card and they were obtained from the NVidia website.

Any ideas on how to get round this problem?

That is odd. I also have XFX GeForce 7600 GT and nothing bad happens after updating my drivers, yet I am still using SP2.

hmm, strange. I'd been runing the drivers on SP2 fine before getting a new harddrive.
