Help! Controlling the mouse!

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

Hello Everyone,

I'm new to UT2004...when driving vehicles with a joystick/wheel, how do you prevent the mouse from moving all around. I want to disable the mouse views. I have tried everything. Thanks!

I'm not sure I've ever heard anyone driving the vehicles with a joystick.

You can control the vehicles quite well with the same movement keys you use to move your character.

If you just insist on controlling it with the stick/wheel, then I don't know how to help you.

Hi Renegade,

Thanks for the reply. Maybe I should explain more. I'm creating a video with FRAPS (using UnWheel) for our motion simulators (see my website). I need to have the camera not move while I'm driving around. It has to be first-person with no oscillating camera movements. I'm using the in-car camera and it's fine, but my views keep going astray and I have to use my mouse to get the camera back to center. How can I disable this?

Thanks,

Hi Scumgrief,

Thanks for the reply and your advice.

I have contacted Tim Sweeney at EPIC and he's cool with what we're doing with UT2004 with no licensing issues. He also explained how to get the telemetry data from the game by writing a script-mod. That means we'll be wanting to hire someone to do that for us. Anyone interested?

Thanks,

Motion Simulator Working With UT2004 / UnWheel

Hello Everyone,

We are proud to announce that we got our motion simulators working with UT2004. I want to say thanks to Tim Sweeney (President of EPIC) and "Angel_Mapper" for helping us with the scripting. Here's how it works. Angel wrote a mod script to export the telemetry data of the vehicles (pitch, roll, accelerations, etc) and my motion interface software takes that data and converts it to motion cues for the simulator. It works great! You can check out the motion simulator here:

We are the first ones in the world to get UT2004 working with a motion simulator!

Regards,

Hi Scumgrief,

UT2004 sends the data via the UDP port. My interface then takes that data and sends it to my motion simulator via TCP/IP in real-time.
