Hey I'm new to these forums and will hopefully be joining you guys on fragBU...
After over a year of playing I've decided to abandon the retched pub scene in search of a little more organized play.
Will I need the latest patch to play on FragBu?

You don't absolutely need it, but it is highly recommended. I would get the latest patch if I were you... it fixes a bunch of bugs, improves performance, and adds some minor features.

You should also download everything in the fragbu thread's first posts as we'll more than likely play those maps and gametypes.

Except the CBP stuff. Those are hardly played except for a select few and you can save 2 GB of space by just grabbing the few we play out of the cache folder after you get them from redirect. :p

Meh, it's so unfair that you guys play on US servers - sounds pretty fun :D... nice big community. Wish there was something like that over here in the euros...

We have UTComp Newnet on, and it seems like it's helping the Euro players have a pretty good experience playing on the server with us. Try it out next weekend! :)

Where in Euroland are you? Gaming is more prolific over there than it is here... Or so I've heard; can't exactly experience that for myself. :p

We used to have a Euro FragBU and an American FragBU. Not sure what happened to the Euro FragBU, but it is no more. I think it's better unified though, it's a lot more fun to play with everyone together than having a split community. All we need now is a server in the mid-atlantic.

It died out because of lack of interest.
Then again, the number of European Beyonders is steadily rising again, so there is actually some interest.
So in conclusion, I guess Euro's are more busy on the early friday's (I know I am).

EDIT: Oh, and what's prolific? I know what the word means (thanks to dictionary), but I have no idea how it relates to the context

Haha, ALG requested that I change back to lyntan, you prefer two`303, Defeat still calls me LN10... I'm undecided atm.

Shark, definitely :). You'll completely kill me, but I don't consider that a problem so long as you don't. I'll be in #bufunite whenever I'm around.
