hardware shaders?

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

i saw this mentioned on UDN, technical section:

The new UDN programmable shader support code is availible for download at HardwareShaders.

i guess this is a feature only available to licensees, since there is no further link or info, and there is no game yet that uses it. (not even ut2k4 it seems, doh!)

so, my question is, is it posiible that future versions of the runtime will have features not used in games yet? or will it always be a step behind?

It's possible, I suppose. The Runtime will have whatever features the stock engine provides. For example, it includes basic SVehicle support, which no game currently has (although I think Unreal II XMP might use it, not sure). So in a sense, it already has features not used in games yet.
