How can do hard skinning in Maya and then import them into Unreal Ed? ActorX/Unreal cannot understand hard skins, I guess!

I would like to select faces/vertices and assign them to a bone..

What your looking for is a smooth bind skin. If what you are skinning is ridgid like something machanical then just paint the weights to each object with the maximum of one influence to each bone.
