Perhaps guard-dog models could be created, which obviously have a smaller profile, but only have melee attacks, and must be bots. They would only respond to a few simple commands like "Defend the base"(or the INF equivalent) and "Search and destroy" or "Cover me". They would be unable to retrieve anything, shoot weapons or wear armor, but would have extremely high awareness (the bot-config modifier).
