O.K., now I've got enough money to buy myself a new grafic card.
But which?
I think the Hercules TNT2 Ultra is quite good (although a friend of mine told me it'd get very hot)
What do you think?
Voodoo or TNT2?
Which card?

Thanks

I say you wait a month or two and get a GeForce 256 or Voodoo 4. They should be out soon, and will be much better than the current cards. Or, you could wait for them to come out and pick up a V3 or TNT2 for real cheap.

Both me and Warren have Diamond Viper 770 TNT2 Ultra cards and are very pleased with them, although if you have a lot to spend you should go with Jedi's plan and get one of the next-gen cards.

Last I heard 3dfx has stuffed up again and the v4 might not make it for xmas. The gforce card on the other hand is just about ready but doesn't sound much faster than the tnt2. Next gen games will be good though cos it does the 3d and lighting in hardware. Dunno if UT will support T&L tho.

before you go out an by a card, you may consider a Rage 128 card (also called Rage Orion). Which will most likely be suported by UT.

Note: Rage 128 cards are in all G3-G4 macs.

OK, let's thow another monkey wrench in there /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif You might want to read http://www.sharkyextreme.com/hardware/articles/99/ati_aurora/ to get some insight as to what cards are coming out and some specifics as to what the benefits are. BTW, this article is about the new ATI Aurora card, but it does talk about the plans of 3dfx and nVidia. Gives you a nice overview of things to come. Also, I use the 3dfx 3500. And I love it! I've been riding the fence waiting for a new card to come out that makes use of the AGP 4x and kicks butt .... but, I got impatiant, and opted for satisfaction now. hehe But, if any of these cards live up to their promises, I will probably be changing cards within the next six months.
