The only reason why I didn't get a Holy **** kill was because I couldn't find anyone else in time. I think I even got two head shots right after that. :c

lol yeah. If I cared about 2k4, I'd reinstall it and make some gifs but I don't and UT3 is just so awesome that it doesn't even have client side demo rec.

I haven't made a GIF since I got a newer version of Photoshop. Is there any reason ImageReady CS2 can't open AVI files when v7 could? Without that I dunno how I'm supposed to make any GIFs! D:

Edit. Okay, so the process has changed a little bit since apparently IR CS2 is fail. My process is now something like this:

    1) Screenshots into VirtualDub to create AVI.
    2) AVI to Vegas to apply motion blur.
    3) Motion blur'd AVI back to VirtualDub to export frames as images.
    4) IR to import folder as frames and create GIF.
    5) ???
    6) Profit!

What, were you expecting me to still play UT2004? :)

I understand playing it at full speed to better understand how twitch the shot was, but it doesn't even look like you hit... seems like it would be better done full speed, with a slomo replay, which, in theory, shouldn't require much more space if it uses the same frames... just a different time code.

I think I shot him somewhere around the ankle or so. If you look at my compass you can see I turned a bit more as I took the shot. The glass spraying everywhere obscures that.

That was definitely one of my better "WTF, how'd I hit that?!" moments.

Of course, CoD4, being an unrealistic game at heart, doesn't have varying hit damages beyond headshots. It's like UT in that a shot to the foot does as much damage as a shot to the chest. :)

    i suck at gifs.
chopped out 2/3 of the frames & it's still huge... however VD somehow made it 56MB :y5:

we were on TS & i didn't know it was my goo that propelled him until i asked.

i reckon that LG shot would've been on too if he hadn't hit the mesh :D

    3 MB? That's a bit ridiculous!

Make sure you set the color palette to something like 32 colors. Maybe less. Then you can use some amount of dithering to reduce color banding. Using IR you can see exactly what the changes will do without having to save it out and try it by viewing the 'optimized' tab.

Your GIF is 78 frames; my latest is 60 (and smoother and motion blur'd). Yet the difference in file size is about 2 MB mostly because of the color situation. D:

heh yeah i'd forgotten to drop the colour palette from 256 to 32, 1.44MB now.
still failing to work out how to use VD also.
