FUBAR (acro)
****ed Up Beyond All Repair (or Recognition)

GI (i'm not so sure about this)
I think it's a term that started during world war 2(?) when your average run-of-the-mill soldier was called a General Issue

Other MilAcros
(in order of severity)
SNAFU
Situation Normal- All ****ed Up
TARFU
Things Are Really ****ed Up.
FUBAR (see above)

And my own personal addition:
SNAFUBAR

Situation Normal- ****ed Up beyony All repair.
(Going to use it for clan name if I ever start one

FUBAR is German???

As a native German I would appreciate to know what the "German" word FUBAR means... I only know FUBAK (= "furchtbar boese den Arsch vollkriegen" = "being hit in your ass very very badly") or FURCHTBAR = terrible... wait a minute... there is also FRUCHTBARE = fertile...

LOL

All I can do is laugh. Somebody posts the correct definition of FUBAR in the first reply, and now everybody seems to think its German...

Smile and nod... smile and nod...

No my friend. A joke is wasted when somebody gives the correct answer, and then somebody else chimes in with an amusingly incorrect one, because the correct answer was already presented. It defeats the purpose of duping the morons into believing that wrong answer is right.
