I get the same error. This is the first time I have ever tried this mod, too.

Oddly, I can spectate races, but as soon as I try to join one, I get kicked out to the XP desktop with:

i get that same error, although i did get it to work once earlier today.

I think i have got it figured, it works fine when i run it fullscreen. Might just be me but if anyone else has this problem try it fullscreen and see if it works then.

It seems to be unable to find the font UnCanvas.cpp

At least I think that's what it means :(

Hmm, anyone mind letting me know what resolution they are running UT in to get that error?

A Canvas error indicates something to do with the HUD.

If you're not running fullscreen, the resolution may end up being something other than a standard res, which may be causing it to bomb out the first time it tries to show the HUD.

Try running in fullscreen with a resolution of 640x480, 800x600, or 1024x768 and see if it still crashes.

I run my UT at 1280x1024 at fullscreen and have 0 issues ... I also used ot run at 1024x768 till I got my 6800GT and had no problems at that resolution either.

IT kicks me out too, but instead of "Assertion failed: Font [File:.\UnCanvas.cpp] [Line: 489]" I have "General protection failed". Please help!

Next time it happens could you copy the entre code it prints out, plus what you were doing at the time?

Cheers.

I have downloaded the version posted on the site, and I get this error:

UT2004 Build UT2004_Build_[2004-03-03_02.42]

OS: Windows XP 5.1 (Build: 2600)
CPU: GenuineIntel Unknown processor @ 3205 MHz with 1022MB RAM
Video: ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9600/9700 Series (Omega 2.5.97a) (6497)

General protection fault!

History: UObject::processEvent <- (UWGameBigAir UWBA-Avalanche.UWGameBigAir, Function UnWheel.UWGame.InitGame) <- BeginPlay <- UGameEngine::LoadMap <- LocalMapURL <- UGameEngine::Browse <- ClientTravel <- UGameEngine::Tick <- Level Avalanche run <- UpdateWorld <- MainLoop

I have tried changing screen resolutions and running with default settings. Regular Unreal 2004 runs fine. I don't get it. Any suggestions?

I'll ask the question that's already been asked....Are you running in a window, or full screen? And at what res?
