I can't recall a response to my question, so here it is again.

- Don't the production version (K2) of the G11 use 45 clip, while the prototypes use 50 clip.

Well technically, the G11 never entered 'production' per se but you are correct- they did change the clips to 45 for the models that WERE to enter production.. if this will be a problem, I can easily change it to 45 round clips.. I just figured since the weapon is a rare prototype in any form, it would be expensive and should perform expensively /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Were the scout units (West-German) equipped with pre 45 clip G11? How many G11 do then exist today? Has it ever been used for real?
Thanks for all your work (there's still a couple of guns left).

As far as I know, the German army was going to adopt it but never did, and the US army was looking seriously at it, but it would be too expensive to equip all that caseless ammo.... probably would be different if the ammo could be used with other weapons too-- who knows! but I'm pretty sure none are in use by any military unit.. but than again, I love being proved wrong! /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I thought that this was the case with the G11. I was actually surprised that the team would opt for a gun that was never really used/produced on a large scale.

The German also thought seriously about adopting the G11. But after the wall fell, the cold war was over so there wasn't any need for another special forces group equipped with that weapon.
(I gotta know it, I'm German)

That, plus the fact that they suddenly inherited more AKs than they knew what to do with.

Caseless:
The hole round is used in the firing, nothing is ejected. Since it is caseless ammo weight less, fill less and can't fire the bullet if blow up. It simplifies the process concerning ammo.

The bullet is encased in the propellent, it's just there is no casing around it, the hard propellant itself is the case. This propellent is ignited and disintegrates, firing the bullet.

The caseless ammo used in the original G11 was as follows: 4.7x33mm bullet fired at approx. 930 m/sec Embedded, almost completely, into a triangular sectioned block of propellent. with a completely comsumed primer cap. This construction allowed very high rates of fire, due to lack of extraction cycle, and a great savings on weight per round.
