Make us more CTF4 maps! lol. There's quite a few plain CTF maps I've tried that I thought were great, but one little thing, usually a window or roof you could go out like a bug, kept me from using it. Also, if someone could take out the Multi-team mod dependency in CTFM maps we could have a ton more CTF4 maps. I've never tried to do much in UED hehe.

I am not a mapper. I modified this map originally in 2004. I recently found it and decided to retweak it. I am not a fan of UED. We don't work well together.

What do you mean multi-team mod dependency in CTFM maps? Maybe that's something I can do. Settings and small snippets of code I'm sure I could find and change :p - I'll look at a CTFM map.

I only tried one, but I was able to start a CTF4 game with a CTFM map. Explain the issue you're referring to regarding dependency and I'll look at it more.

I guess I should play with it some more! I assumed that was why my server wouldn't take most the maps I tried to put on. I'll try it with the CTFM mod dormant in the directory next. It was a shame, I was trying to put on about 10 maps, and they weren't even labelled CTFM, but often they aren't. I'll investigate more.

Next time I see a map I think would be great except for one thing, I'll give you a holler! ;)

I'm going to work on getting Ferbotz on the server. I made a change last night that gave bots the reg trans instead of the ADR ones, tried it with Ferbotz, compared to regular bots, and I was shitting my pants! The Ferbotz were amazing! They'd drop their trans and punt it with the IH from one side of the map to the other with great precision, always moving, translocated like players, telefragged like players. If they can punt like that, maybe they could be trained to carry the flag and RJ too. I should be able to get them using the EO trans right too, but they would be terrifyingly effective in EO even without it. I haven't tried to recompile Ferbotz yet, so who knows, but I'm excited.

I spent some time during my lunch break today trying to figure out making a map into a CTF4 map. I started with BridgeXL (Who wouldn't like Bridge4XL!?) but there seem to be some serious issues in that map or in my PC. Just compiling the map with no changes results in all kinds of visual artificats and bugs. Not sure why. [Open in UnrealEd > Build = problems]

I started tinkering with Midway and was able to get 4 bases with a middle and no problems. I'll keep tinkering later.

Hmm, just a paragraph at the bottom about CTF4, guess I remembered wrong, but maybe still worth a read. Beyond making the extra bases there's pathnoding for the bots, adding a team, adding a flag, etc. Hopefully nothing too involved! It also says you can make just 3 bases and it would work, interesting!
