    WHAT?????

The CVR(T) series of vehicles, which includes the Scorpian Light Tank, use a normal Aluminium Alloy armour. The vehicles are only proof against rifle calibre rounds really. There's NO special coating applied to this armour other than normal camo paint.

Also the Scorpian doesn't hold the record for the fastest tank in the world. It is limited to 50mph and even with the restrictor removed rarely makes 70mph. There have been a couple of prototype and experimental tanks that exceed these speeds.

I always knew getting your information from the TV without doing a bit of research was asking for trouble.

The reason the CVR(T) series of vehicles have been so successful is due to there small size, rapid speed and excelleration and exceedingly good weapons systems fitted. The armour was to protect it from Infantry, if it met Armour it runs away like any other self respecting Reccon element would do. The Scorpion was probably the worst example of the type as there were problems with the 76mm gun and it is slower than the Scimitar with its 30mm Raden cannon. Infact the British Army withdrew the Scorpian from service at the same time it withdrew its CVR(W) Fox armoured cars. They put the Fox turret with its 30mm Raden cannon onto the scorpian body and produced the Sabre light tank.

an Abram M1A2 tank with a 120 mm smoothbore gun and depleted uranium armor is vastly superior. IMHO :D

Duuuunhhhh. Abrams = Main Battle Tank > Sabre = Light Tank. At least in open battle. Light tanks are useful because you can airdrop them, which lets you upgrade your paratroopers from light infantry to light mechanized infantry.

Its OK Sara. With the M1's notorious reliability the Sabre/Scimitar would get a mobility kill in a few minutes then some nice F16 would try and knock out the now crippled tank by missing it with a 500lb bomb. Then we could have CNN or whoever around and say how our little tank with it's 30mm gun singlehandedly destroyed the M1 with just one shot :)

Well it nearly worked for the Iraqies

Tiffy, I think it's safe to say that a group of Abrams would not be traveling alone, they would have an anti-infantry escort of some kind, like jeeps or hummers, to fend off harassment from lighter more mobile attackers.

When in doubt, check with FAS.org - lots of good military info there.

    Sabre

    Scorpion

    Striker

I still don't see how any of this has anything to do with Infiltration... Sure, you *could* put 25mm armor plating on a person, but I don't think they'd like it. <shrugs>

Typing in english, using something approaching acceptable grammer and punctuation and spelling more than every other word correctly would be a good start.

You may have some really good ideas but most people just can't make out what your saying as your standard of english is low. If english isn't your native language then I hope this isn't taken too personnally as I could type in any other language, so your one up on me as it is. If however, and your from monica (Boston) would lead me to beleive this, your and American then I'd suggest some work is needed. Try typing what you want to say in simplier sentences, use a spell checker etc. If we can't understand you we're unlikely to look favourably on suggestions you make.

    A poor attempt at translation:

"Okay, never mind the bullet-shattering coating (the one he said he heard about on TV). Anyone who cares to prove me wrong about it can buy the video from Discovery.com. I am changing the subject to this tank, which is also from TV. I got specs on it because this time I took notes.

OF COURSE THIS IS WITHOUT RESEARCH!!!"

and that striker isn’t the one I am taking about the transport (really multi-role) and about the putting amour on a person that’s not quite right. u am trying to say apply the principals to a shield. hope that clears it a bit. :)
